Invasive Species Awareness & Monitoring

You Are Here: Home / Invasive Species Awareness & Monitoring

Invasive species are any non-native species whose introduction causes harm to human health, the environment or economic loss.  These species may be plant, animal or fungal.  These species may also be aquatic (live in water) or terrestrial (live on land).

We strongly encourage the public to become educated and aware of invasive species in our area, and to record invasive species that they observe at http://imapinvasives.org/.  This website provides a database of all types of invasive species, helping scientists, municipalities, and land managers to identify where invasive species exist, which invasive species are present, and also may help to identify problem species in a timely manner.  For more information about this database, contact the Saskatchewan Conservation Data Centre.
